Meredith Kunkle, MEd, LPC Intern
Meredith is a budding Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC Intern) with a big heart for young people; she has been working with kids since she was a kid! A veteran educator, she has experience that reaches from early childhood into adolescence. She developed a passion for students exhibiting traits of learning differences during her thirteen years as an educator, and from personal experiences as a parent. Her genuine interest in students who learn differently has translated into a desire to support these young people and their families as they journey through difficulties at school or home, assessment, possible diagnosis, and other challenges that, too easily, can cause negative feelings to surface. Meredith hopes to provide an accepting and encouraging atmosphere that promotes healthy coping, the learning of supportive strategies and techniques, and a discovery of just how extraordinary these young people are! Meredith believes that different learners can discover their natural gifts and talents, especially with a healthy dose of support and resilience along the way, in order to make their unique mark upon our world.
Specific areas of knowledge and training are: ADHD, Dyslexia, Auditory Processing Disorder, Sensory Integration Dysfunction, Nonverbal Learning Disorder, and a foundational understanding of many other learning differences.
Meredith will also accept clients (ages 4-17, and/or their guardians) needing support with behavioral intervention, general anxious or depressive symptoms, self-concept/self-esteem, grief, or other difficulties that present in the life of a young person.
Meredith will work from Cognitive Behavioral, Positive Psychology, and Solution-Focused Therapy frameworks.
Referrals will be made for counseling needs that exceed Meredith’s experience or ability. Meredith currently works as a High School Counselor, and will be accepting a limited number of clients, initially. Also, as a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern, Meredith meets weekly in Supervision with Pam Brown, LPC Supervisor.
Please call Meredith at 806-340-0713 Ext. 106 or email Meredith at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule counseling for a child or guardian in need of services described above, or to ask for more information.
