Sarah Taylor, CTRS
Sarah, our Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, loves helping people of all ages feel successful! Sarah uses everything from art and music to sports and games to create a sense of accomplishment and pride within her participants.
Sarah graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation (TR) in 2008. She worked as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist at The Transitional Learning Center for Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation in Lubbock, where she used the patients’ leisure interests (such as different forms of art, music, dance, sports, games, etc.) to work on various physical, cognitive, emotional, and social goals. Sarah also enjoys her position as the Studio Art Director of the annual Summer STAR Program (Stroke and Aphasia Recovery) through the Speech and Language department at Texas Tech.
Sarah is excited to begin working with children and teens at The Playroom Lubbock. She believes that everyone can benefit from Therapeutic Recreation/Recreational Therapy, specifically individuals with disabilities or disabling conditions to address their cognitive, social, emotional, or physical needs.
