Hi, I’m Emily!

I am a Student Intern (SI) under the supervision of Kelly Martin, M.Ed., LPC-S, RPT-S. I am currently an undergraduate student at Texas Tech University, majoring in Counseling and Addiction Recovery Sciences. I am passionate about mental health and wellness, and I care deeply about providing thoughtful, compassionate support for children as I have worked with children in various settings for 2+ years.

In my free time, I love doing yoga and Pilates, thrifting, exploring local coffee shops and farmer’s markets, volunteering, and playing cozy video games. I also enjoy spending time with my partner, Andrew, and our two dogs, Clover and Jasper. And of course, I’m a full-time plant mom!

As a Student Intern (SI) and aspiring therapist, I intend on expanding my knowledge of Child-Centered Play Therapy. I am proud to assist our therapists and Graduate Student Interns here at The Playroom Lubbock as they work to promote the health and well-being of children and adolescents.
